Paving the Way for Change: Ambassador Dr. Umarun Kwabo’s Role in Sokoto’s Waste Management Reforms

Before the appointment of Hon. Tukur Toro as Senior Advisor (S.A) for the Sokoto Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), the groundwork for Sokoto’s waste management transformation was laid by Ambassador Alhaji Dr. Umarun Kwabo A.A, MFR, also known as Uban Marayu Jarman Sokoto. As the chair of the committee dedicated to refuse evacuation in Sokoto State, Ambassador Kwabo played a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing essential cleanup operations across the region.

Under his supervision, the committee made significant strides in addressing waste management issues, setting the stage for a cleaner and healthier Sokoto. His leadership and commitment did not go unnoticed, and his efforts ultimately contributed to the appointment of Hon. Tukur Toro by His Excellency. Ambassador Kwabo’s contributions provided a strong foundation that Hon. Toro and the SEPA team continue to build upon in their ongoing mission to enhance environmental quality in Sokoto State.

These images capture key moments from the committee’s activities under Ambassador Kwabo’s supervision, reflecting the dedication and hard work that led to this transformative era in Sokoto’s waste management.
